Open Monday – Saturday 9am – 7pm | Sundays & Public Holidays 9am – 5pm

In celebration of 5 years of trading and sustainable growth, The Locally Yours Market will increase the experiential offerings for visitors and locals to the Bay. The first new addition available to the public from Saturday, 4 March 2023, will be the All Aboard Locally Yours Tour.

Locals and visitors can purchase tickets and tour our Bay to and from the Locally Yours Market on board the Upper Deck double-decker cruise bus. The itinerary will include entry and a tour of SANCCOB, then a stop to explore the surrounds of the Cape Recife Lighthouse before returning to the hustle and bustle of the market that takes place at The Boardwalk Mall once a month.

explore the surrounds of the Cape Recife Lighthouse before returning to the hustle and bustle of the market that takes place at The Boardwalk Mall once a month.

While visiting SANCCOB, passengers will experience a guided tour of the facility that is a registered non-profit organisation with the primary objective to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds – especially endangered species like the African penguin. Children and adults alike will delight in learning more about the endangered African penguins, and tours are timed to coincide with the penguins feeding schedules.

The picturesque Cape Recife Lighthouse located in the 366-hectare Cape Recife Nature Reserve, is a popular attraction for many who want to be amazed at the magnificent 24-story lighthouse or take advantage of the instagrammable surroundings. The lighthouse was built in 1851 to warn passing ships of the dangers of the Thunderbolt Reef. It was the first lighthouse constructed in the Port Elizabeth area and is situated on the southern point of Algoa Bay.

Making the tour even more exciting is the experience of hopping on and off a double-decker bus, plus passengers can win vouchers to spend at the market by uploading their favourite moments of the tour to social media using the hashtags #LocallyYoursTour and #AllAboard. Market vendors are also excited to offer tour-goers discounts at selected stalls on market day.

Annelize Botha, Locally Your Market Director, shared, “Locally Yours Market is so thankful for local and visitors support who have helped them reach this wonderful 5-year birthday celebration. Through the years, we have continued to expand with a retail shop in Walmer, develop an online store, and this year will reveal a host of activities to complement the market and expand the product offerings. The bus tour is the first new activity, and by April, we hope to expand the activities during market day to entertain children.”

The Locally Yours Market prides itself on showcasing the best handmade, grown, crafted, cooked, baked, and designed goods by local entrepreneurs. Enjoy the day at the market and combine this with a Bay Tour. Tickets cost R120.00 for children under 12years and R140.00 for adults. These can be pre-booked online via the Locally Yours website, and a limited number will be available on the day. Tours will run twice a day on market days, with the morning tour departing at 9:30am and returning at 12:30, and the afternoon tour departing at 13:30 returning at 15:30
