Mt Kilimanjaro Curios
Grace, owner and manager of Mt Kilimanjaro Curios, has been at home at the Boardwalk for over 25 years, offering the local and international tourists the very best in South African and African Curios. Originally situated in the curio market adjacent the old Spur at the original Boardwalk, she has decided to bring her brand front and centre into the phase 1 Boardwalk Mall corridor, for maximum exposure and brand engagement!
Hailing from Gqeberha, Grace and her family have tirelessly sourced the very best suppliers from throughout South Africa and Africa and passionately support them in their endeavours to grow their small businesses and produce the highest quality collectables, that will stand out and evoke the feelings and memories of a holiday well spent in the Bay and South Africa.
Catering predominantly for the international tourism market, Grace has faced the challenges of the last 2 years of COVID and the abrupt halt to ships and visitors from abroad, but this has not stopped her from pursuing her business endeavours.
You can always be assured of the brightest smile and the warmest welcome from Grace and her family, as you wonder into her store. The bold and bright colours of Africa ring out and draw you in, it’s almost impossible not to become mesmerised when you enter. From the striking beaded African necklaces, earrings and bracelets to tribal figurines and precision handcrafted wooden animals and masks, traditional African leather accessories and sandals – it’s hard to know where to start your shop!
With all that the new Boardwalk Mall has to offer, Grace is eagerly looking to getting involved in the proposed community markets, events and exhibition opportunities that will open up once phase 2 of the new mall comes online on the 22nd September 2022. She is also confident that the mall will become the new tourist hub in the bay, now that COVID restrictions are being lifted and the influx of foreigners is picking up! The recent Isuzu ironman weekend brought the happy return of tourists to the bay and will hopefully mark the starting point of great things to come for Mt Kilimanjaro Curios and the Boardwalk Mall.
